Welcome!
The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery maintains an active research program that encompasses clinical trials, outcome assessments, and basic investigations in the mechanisms of vascular disease. Following a long tradition of innovation in vascular surgery, we were the lead site for a multi-center, prospective, randomized clinical trial of a novel genetic therapy designed to improve the long term function of vein bypass grafts. The Division also actively generates and participates in clinical trials of novel technologies for the treatment of hypertension, thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid and lower extremity vascular disease, and renal failure—ensuring that the latest options are available to patients who may be at increased risk for standard approaches. Additionally, our assessments of outcomes in vascular care have helped define standards of care in the field. Finally, the Division’s long standing productivity in basic vascular biology research is reflected not only in numerous presentations and publications disseminating new knowledge, but also via the multitude trainees who have built successful research careers after participation with the Division’s research teams. |
